Technical Operations Department in the Administrative Offices

Full Time: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm
DUTIES: Perform various cataloging and data entry functions to maintain the Library District’s catalog database. Enters records for new material using bibliographic utilities. Creates, edits, transfers or links bibliographic records in the database. Assigns labels for physical processing of materials. Identifies cataloging problems and works with other staff to find solutions.
REQUIREMENTS: BS/BA degree in related field and 1 year library or closely related experience. Prefer knowledge of library catalog databases. Strong customer service skills, high attention to details along with knowledge of a public library’s function and purpose are required.
Applicants without a BS/BA may substitute 2 years’ experience as a Library Assistant for 30 college credit hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical work associated with the position includes but is not limited to: lifting books and materials from shelves and carts, pushing or pulling carts of materials.
RATE: Step 1 of Track D, $15.49 per hour
